Cebu foursquare church

The day started with another delicious longanisa breakfast, cebu style, in our small hotel lobby. It is a great little place only costing us about $25 a night!

This morning we went to service at Cebu Foursqaure Church. We arrived early and had some time to spend with Pastor Rej Lagunero. After talking for awhile, we realized that we had met 6 years earlier when myself and a bunch of other young adults went on a mission trip with Xtreme (a young adults ministry) to Dumaguete and he was the Pastor who organized a bunch of the churches to attend the conference we put together.

His Church is a Compassion International project site. There are about 300 compassion kids that attend his church during the week. In the pictures below you can see some of the compassion kids in the yellow shirts. It was great to spend some time there, to encourage the pastor and some of the members and at the same time more so be encouraged by them! They also have a bible college beside their church and have plans to start a regular school for the kids in the area.

Our compassion child is not at this project site, instead we drive to a nearby city tomorrow where we will meet Frans, our 5 year old sponsor child. We're really excited to spend time with him!

A day in Manila

We've been spending time with my Uncle and Aunty, doing a lot of eating and visiting some shopping areas. Breakfast was the traditional Filipino dish of rice, eggs and delicious longanisa - a sausage packed with incredible flavor. Below is also a pic with my Aunty and Lynnette about to buy a hot dog wrapped in bacon...I love this place.

Tonight we just got off the plane here in Cebu (southern Philippines). Please be praying for Lynnette, she's been feeling a little sick/nauseous recently.
We'll be attending Cebu Foursquare Church tomorrow for service.
